Yonsei Cancer Center’s baryon treatment center, called dream cancer treatment, will be in full operation starting from March. Baryon therapy is one of the radiation treatments using carbon particles and is the treatment technique that selectively destroys only tumors (cancer cells) by accelerating carbon particles at 70% speed of light. It is also called as ‘dream cancer treatment device’ which overcomes incurable cancer because it has two to three times higher curative value than conventional radiation therapy.
