Gansam Architecture wins 3rd prize in 'Shinnae Compact City International Design Competition'

Gansam Architecture won the 3rd prize in the international design competition for the three-dimensional northern arterial road project of the 'Shinnae Compact City International Design Competition' hosted by SH Seoul Housing and Urban Corporation, boasting its design technology.

Gansam Architects and BKK-3 (representative architect Franz Sumnisch) of Austria jointly applied for this competition, and after passing the first competition in October last year, they were named in the final list of awards. The third prize will be awarded with a cash prize of KRW 40 million and a certificate.

The international design competition for the compact city creation project through the three-dimensionalization of the northern arterial road is a project to create self-sufficient facilities such as public housing, parks, living SOC, business and commerce centered on young people and newlyweds in the Sinnae area, which is the gateway and triple station area of the northeastern part of Seoul. It was conducted to come up with creative and innovative design proposals.

Through the review of Gansam Architecture, the judging panel received an evaluation that “they improved the sense of openness with the neighboring complex and planned a rich open space on the artificial site.”

Meanwhile, the awards ceremony will be held at Seoul City Hall on the 20th, and an exhibition of the winning works will be held until January 30th.
