SeoulChuk Hospital was a project in which it was imperative to focus on building a place with an identity that embraces the strong intent of the owner – providing distinguished medical services and building Korea’s best hospital dedicated to the spine – compared to the lease building in the past. SeoulChuk Hospital expanded and moved adjacent to Hyundai Department Store in Mia Samgeori in 2011, and it is the biggest spine hospital north of Hangang River in Seoul with 120 sickbeds, 14 floors above ground and four basement levels. The irregular form of the windows in the exterior of the building was designed on the theme of the human spine, and with the relocation, the hospital decided to devote itself to the overall health needs of the local residents from spine health as well as joint health, rehabilitation, and health examinations.
