IBK HEAD OFFICE REMODELING

This project modernized the space and facilities of an old building that was completed over 30 years ago while maintaining its symbolism as the head office of IBK. We carried out substantial repairs for the building, such as improving spaces and outdated systems to fit the changed financial environment, reinforcing the structure, and improving the external space while maintaining the appearance that has become the symbol of the Industrial Bank of Korea as it was designed by Jung-eop Kim, a master architect of Korea. The mixed space was divided into zones by use to increase the use and create a pleasant work environment considering economic feasibility and efficiency. Risks were minimized by carrying out the works planned by the floor and facility. The office on the base floor was changed to an open plan to respond to variability. The lobby, with ample space, was transformed into an elegant space representing the company's value and spirit, giving it a symbolic meaning as the head office. The underground sunken space, which strengthened the connection with the second head office, secured convenience by reorganizing the traffic and emphasized the company's tradition and history by rearranging existing old trees. Through remodeling, it was reborn into a building with high preservation value along with the company's new endeavors.
