The LG Art Center Seoul and LG Discovery Lab Seoul, grand prize winner from The 41st Seoul Architecture Awards, are the architecture designed by Gansam and Tadao Ando Architect & Associates. With three concepts – ‘Tube,’ which is a public road connecting the horizontal axis with the Seoul Botanic Park, ‘Gate Arc,’ which welcomes visitors and audiences in the lobby, and ‘Step Atrium,’ which vertically connects subway stations and performance hall from the underground, the architecture was designed to embrace publicity, movement, and spatial pleasure. It was also highly evaluated as a premium cultural facility for its high level of completion, construction, and program, as well as its variable sound facilities in the hall and variability of the stage.
