Jeju Museum of Art

Jeju Museum of Art has been built on a sunny plot of land surrounded by Mt. Halla where the blue sky light richly spreads. The simple, moderate façade blends into the adjacent terrain, serving as a mechanism that makes Jeju’s nature even more special. Jeju’s sky that turns color according to time, Mt. Halla that changes clothes of many colors every season, the waves of rape flowers dancing across the field and silver grass wriggling at every breeze, these familiar views of Jeju now seem like special artworks seen in the museum. Jeju Museum of Art is an open frame where guests will enjoy nature in a new way, and it is a structure that has voluntarily become a background to allow the housed artworks to be the main star.
